I took this photo a little less than a year ago while camping in the Red River Gorge. While grabbing something out of my tent I saw this tiny baby skink hanging from the inside of the roof. Typically, these little guys are fast as hell but I was able to pick this one up and he just sat in my hand while I snapped a few shots of him. I was lucky enough to have this one turn out so well.
For some reason I am still mesmerized by this photo and I can’t help but show it off. I think it illustrates the simple beauty of nature, life, and our strange encounters with both.
The only Photoshopping I did was desaturate everything but the skink. His colors were really that vibrant.
