My mother, in addition to being a teacher, is a professional artist who, given a bit of freedom since my sister and I moved out, has re-focused her energies on her artwork and now has two websites to showcase her work.
As she would likely tell you, my mom has always been an artist and though I can remember watching her paint, sculpt, and draw when I was a child, for many reasons she was never able to fully pursue her career as an artist and eventually had to put it on hold for a while. She has sacrificed her passion to dedicate herself to her family and for that I am grateful. I could not have asked for a more loving mother or a more inspirational role model in my life. She has always encouraged me to be creative at all costs, stand up for what I believe, and pursue my dreams and I’m now happy to see her taking her own advice.
She now has her own blog to which she tries to post a new painting each day and she also has a more extensive site where you can view many of her pieces. I believe you can now purchase most of them from either site. She has been featured in shows across the country and has works in various galleries including the Promenade gallery in Berea.
